Antique Victorian Scottish Agate Cairngorm Thistle Brooch
A wonderful antique Scottish agate brooch from the Victorian era, c1880! The circular brooch features agate segments surrounding a central thistle motif. The three-dimensional and beautifully textured thistle design consists of layered undulated 'foliage' and features bright orange paste stone at the top - the stone imitating the Scottish cairngorm! The agate segments decorate the border adding a striking and unique appearance to the piece! The rim surface is adorned with hand engraving, adding further texture and charm to this wonderful Victorian piece. A pin and c-loop attach to the back.
